SUNDAY LUNCH

SUNDAY LUNCH

Whats the first thing that comes into your head when you hear SUNDAY LUNCH, roast chicken or beef, roast potatoes, roast vegetables, gravy, maybe even yorkshire pudding to be very traditional, and then ofcourse dessert, something warm and baked with custard.

WELL as much as all of that tastes so good, its not good at all. Here is a simple, healthy, GREEN, light but filling, super yummy lunch, thats rather low in calories so guess what? you can have a glass of wine with it without feeling guilty.

This is what I had for lunch yesterday. Fresh Gurnard fish, which is on the SASSI green list for is very safe and correct to eat, it is also rather cheap unlike quite a lot of fish.

Fresh Gurnard drizzled with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and just pan fried in a dry, smoking hot pan skin side down first until halfway cooked then flip over, drizzle with some fresh lemon right at the end.

Served with a Organic gemsquash salad - firstly Gemsquash are low in fat and sugar so therefore good for you, we boiled the gemsquash until soft, we then cut them open to find that they were firm all the way through with minimal pips and being organic and small the skin was soft to so we chopped the whole vegetable up, added 1 organic onion finely chopped, 5ml wholegrain mustard, 45ml olive oil, 15ml lemon juice and tossed it all togeter and served it with the fish.

The combination on the firm fleshed fish just seasoned so very natural with the sweet yet tangy slightly warm salad was mind blowing and just to finish it off for that peppery kick we folded through some fresh rocket from the garden.

Served with a chilled Colombar wine it was one of the most divine meals i have had in a long time.
